A native of Mexico City, Carlie lived in Houston, TX and Fort Lauderdale, FL, falling completely in love with the yachting lifestyle. Upon retiring from a 20-year career with federal law enforcement, she obtained her yacht sales license in 2017 and hit the ground running. Carlie has been involved in the sale of over 90 vessels with international clients and offshore closings.
Carlie knows and enjoys the process of being an effective yacht broker: from listing a vessel for sale to finding the right yacht for a buyer, completing a survey day, and walking shipyards up and down the coast of Florida, to consistently building relationships in the industry.
Her fondest sales memory is that of a Hatteras Sportfish located on the Caribbean coast of Guatemala with a buyer from California, all taking place during the pandemic. Patience and clear communication between buyer, seller, attorneys, and surveyors, brokered by Carlie, led to a close after months of working with travel restrictions, amongst other hurdles. The buyer then literally sailed off into the sunset through the Panama Canal and onto the West Coast of the US with a smile.
Carlie’s ability to communicate succinctly in English and Spanish has earned clients’ trust in the US, Mexico, and Guatemala. She currently resides in Guatemala City, traveling when necessary to meet with clients based on their needs and desires. When not working on yacht sales, Carlie is practicing yoga, enjoying a great meal, and playing in the ocean somewhere in Central America.
Finding the right yacht for her clients is Carlie’s top priority!
