Every interior component, including the beds, helm console, coffee tables, and sun deck lounge chairs, was constructed to scale from cardboard and plywood. The mockup served two purposes: it assisted the Hatteras design team, under the direction of Hatteras’ manager of product design, David Brown, in determining the optimal spatial arrangements, and it allowed owners to provide feedback while experiencing the new motoryacht.
Designed to align with the transom, the sun deck is particularly spacious. The placement of the bar, dining area, and sun loungers can be determined based on the modularity of the furniture, allowing the owners to construct a layout that meets their needs. In addition, there is ample space for tender storage on the sun deck, but Hatteras plans to offer a European version with a garage. According to Brown, however, many owners opt to tow the tender or store it on the yacht’s hydraulic swim platform, which is available on this model. There is also the option of a built-in beach club.
